Program Description

Introduce new habits into your culture by adopting an Agile mindset

Agile has quickly become the go-to project management approach for a wide range of industries. According to the Project Management Institute (PMI), more than 90% of organizations are using Agile to some degree. According to PMI’s Pulse of the Profession* leading organizations are more likely than traditional enterprises to complete projects using agile or and hybrid approaches (52 percent versus 38 percent, combined). This isn’t as simple as eschewing waterfall, but rather ensures that teams use Agile to customize their approach for the project at hand.

This program provides the essentials of agile project management and contrasts the traditional/waterfall project management practices to managing projects that employ Agile/Iterative methods, including Scrum and eXtreme Programming (XP). You will learn how to initiate, plan, and schedule an Agile project, how to estimate using story points and ideal days, and how to monitor performance against the plan.

You will leave this program understanding how best to apply Agile –in concert with or instead of traditional methods– for your organization’s projects.  Throughout the 2 4-hour sessions, there will be interactive activities and a final simulation that works through an actual agile project management process where you will get to apply the tools, methodologies, and philosophy of Agile.

“If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” African proverb

Agile is as much a mindset as it is guiding principles and concepts. It is a smarter approach to the management of projects. It relies on motivated individuals supporting each other to reach a common aim, together as one.
